Dr Sheetal Chopra is a Course Director of the programme Intellectual Property Talent Search Examination (IPTSE) and has authored its course contents “A Story Book of Intellectual Property”, available in English and Hindi. She has 18+ years of Industry experience in Public Policy, Education, Research and Government Affairs. She is a registered Indian Patent Agent and an Author of the book for “Patent Practitioners and Patent Agents” by Notion Press, available at Amazon.

Intellectual Property Talent Search Examination

IPTSE is the India’s first Intellectual Property Olympiad which was joint initiated by ASSOCHAM and ERICSSON on July, 2018 with the objective to promote Intellectual Property awareness (copyright, patents, trademark, geographical indication, industrial design and trade secrets) among the Indian youth.

IPTSE is an annual online examination designed for school and college students across various streams targeting school students(IX to XII class)and under graduate college/polytechnic students.2018-19 online examination was conducted in the month of November and December, 2018 and on the basis of score obtained by the students, students were awarded with Award Money, Trophy and Certificate as the token of appreciations. Also top twenty students had an opportunity to visit R&D lab in India.

Since its beginning, IPTSE has been receiving pan India acceptance from different institution such as Ministry of MSME, Govt. of India, Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of India, All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), Education Department of Karnataka, Assam, Maharashtra, and NavodayaVidyalayaSamiti. Also many institutions have supported this initiative and issued a circular to all institutions under their jurisdictions such as University of Delhi, Mumbai University, Kurukshetra University, Maulana Azad National Urdu University, Doctor Hari Singh Gour University, BabasahebBhimraoAmbedkarUnveristy, Aligarh Muslim University, Bangalore University, SantLongwal Institute of Engineering and Technology, JamiaHamdard University, Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), Navsari Agriculture University, Gujarat Technical University and Cochin University.

IPTSE 2018-19 successfully completed of its first year and award ceremony held on 4thJuly 2019 at Taj Mansingh Hotel, New Delhi. ASSOCHAM has honour of hosting Hon'ble former Minister of Commerce & Industry, Govt. of India and Member of Parliament & Sherpa G20, Shri Suresh PrabhakarPrabhu, as the Chief Guest for the occasion.

How To Apply for IPR Examinations


  • ASSOCHAM considers the optimization of protection and management of IPRs and timeliness to be amongst the priority goals for improvement of the Indian Eco System. The prime objective of the IPTSE is to encourage young people’s interest in intellectual property issues & motivate them for innovative search and development of prospective projects and facilitating their commercialization.
